Weekly Recap: 20 September 2020

This week has been a mellow one in terms of reading. Let’s see how it went.

Blog Posts this week

On Monday I posted a review of a recent read Milk Teeth by Amrita Mahale. A story about unrequited love and the challenges of moving forward in life. I loved the description of Mumbai in this book. This book was shortlisted for 2019 JCB Prize for Literature. Click here to read this year’s nominees.

Wednesday is all about WWW Wednesday. I enjoy sharing my reading progress of the week.

On Friday, I posted about a recent novella Dopehri by Pankaj Kapur. I am enamoured by this book and highly recommend it. It is story about an elderly lady who is paranoid of the fact that someone comes knocking at exactly 3pm at her Haveli.

On Saturday, I worked on an older blog post, a book review on Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri. I have read two books by her and love her writing style.

Thank a lot for liking, commenting and taking some time out from your busy schedule to visit Book & Corner.

Books I read this week

Kintsugi by Anukrti Upadhyay

A unique blend of Japan & Jaipur. Reading this book felt like taking a walk in the lanes of Jaipur and then switching to the lofty mountains in Japan. It is a very refreshing read.

Dopehri by Pankaj Kapur

This is tale of finding the lost long purpose of life. A tale of reminiscing the past and rediscover your identity. Pure ecstasy while reading it.

Also, I’m currently in the middle of two books.

The Stationary Shop of Tehran by Marjan Kamali

Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

Book of the week

More like novella of the week. It was a pleasure reading Dopehri by Pankaj Kapur and is certainly my book of the week.

Quote of the Week

“Not all vessels are meant to hold water, some are for allowing water to seep away”.

Kintsugi by Anukrti Upadhyay

Anticipated Book for Next Week

The Stationery Shop of Tehran by Marjan Kamali
