4 highly recommended books in August: Wrap-Up

August has been a pretty good month reading and sanity wise. These past months have been rough due to this whole COVID situation. Admittedly, I took some time adjusting to this new normal which definitely took a toll on my reading. What’s done is done. Better late than Never.

What I read this month

I am pleased with my reading progress this month. 5 books in a month seemed like a dream sometime back. But, I made it happen.

  • My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyikan Braithwaithe ★★★.5
  • Pachinko by Min Jin Lee ★★★★
  • Breasts and Eggs by Mieko Kawakami ★★
  • Bhaunri by Anukrti Upadhyay ★★★
  • Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie ★★★★

Book Reviews I posted this month

I am extremely happy that I revived this blog from the dead. The drafts of the pending book reviews have finally made it to the published posts this month.

Apart from the book reviews, I also talked about my favourite character Jane Eyre in this post and how my writing has changed over the course of one year in this post.

Finding Fiction Friday

I also started a new weekly meme Finding Fiction Friday where I come up with a book recommendation. Please join this meme if you feel this is a good idea and link me up so that I can read your posts.

August Milestones

This blog hit 200 follows. Still I can’t believe if this is true! Thank you. I feel genuinely honoured to know that so many of you like Book and Corner.

Mieko Kawakami liked my picture on Instagram. A great deal of effort goes into clicking every picture. So, it feels nice when the author recognizes your post, right?

Actively posted on Instagram

Not only my blog but I revived my Instagram as well.

Well, there aren’t a lot of non-bookish things happened in August. But I did binge-watched on Netflix and Hotstar from time to time. Let me know if you like me to begin writing reviews about my Netflix list as well.

How has your reading been this August? Any particular book you enjoyed? Leave a link of your wrap ups below.

  1. Congratulations on the followers!

My sister the serial killer is one of these books I always think of buying, but never got in the end. Who knows I might get to it some day soon.

I am always looking for new Netflix shows to watch, so by all means if you feel like it, I would like to read those reviews as well!
