Hello, bookworms. It’s time for another WWW.
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and currently revived by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.
The rules are very simple. The three Ws stands for the following questions.
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
-
Currently Reading
I am in the middle of The Great Gatsby and loving it. I have reached the part when Baker narrates the story to Nick. I hope I finish it by today so I can include it in my February Wrap-Up.
-
Recently finished
I finished The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë which the book of the month of the Bronte Book Club. I cannot claim that I loved it like Charlotte’s works but I am glad I read it, it was invigorating at times. Read my review here.

Next Read
Instead of picking up something new, I am going to finish Rebecca which has been prolonged for a very long time now. I have read a few pages in-between other books and really liked it. So, looking forward to completing before next week’s WWW.
That’s all for today! Thank you for reading. Let me know in the comments if you have read any of these books.
Happy Reading!
I’ve been meaning to read Rebecca basically forever! Good luck with finally finishing it!
Here’s my WWW.

I’m glad you’re enjoying The Great Gatsby. I think it’s a brilliant novel. And you’re reading one of my favourite books, Rebecca. It made my books I could reread forever list for yesterday’s Top Ten Tuesday. I’m sorry The Tenant of Wildfell Hall didn’t quite do it for you. I know exactly what you mean about the pace but a while back I read a great book about Anne Bronte (Take Courage by Samantha Ellis) and she did a brilliant analysis of the book, drawing out a lot of themes I hadn’t noticed. So I may reread it again soon.

I have never heard of this book by Samantha Ellis. Thank you for telling me it would definitely help me in looking at some things differently because I felt there were multiple layers to the book but I couldn’t get my mind off Helen so as to focus on other things.
Thank you for sharing the link. Looking forward to discussing Rebecca with you.💚

I always think for a blogger I’m really bad when it comes to the classics as I’ve only read Jane Eyre, that I can think off. The Great Gatsby does intrigue me though. Here’s my WWW – https://whisperingstories.com/reading-28th-february-2018/

It’s the other way round for me. I always think I don’t read contemporary texts because classics as a genre is not read by all.
Also, the Great Gatsby is coming out pretty well till now. I hope I like it.

Nice list! I’ve only read Wuthering Heights, I really ought to check out the novels by the other Brontë sisters sometime.

Once you had the life kicked out of a book by the A-Level teaching syllabus (I used to be a teacher) you cannot look at the book, in this case Gatsby, the same way again. *shudders*

I am sorry to hear that. I can understand why this is just a one time read.

I once had an argument with a student over Daisy. She was completely blinded to all other interpretations and couldn’t answer essay questions properly because she hated the character so much!

I agree there can be multiple interpretations because sometimes we look at things the way we want. But honestly, I am not liking her that much either. I have reached the part when she is introduced to Gatsby. I hope it gets better from here.

Making your way through some classics. I loved The great Gatsby… really want to re-read. And Rebeca is one that I’ve wanted to read for quote some time too.

I have been trying to clear up some of my backlist books and tackling classics is easier.😅 Also, the Great Gatsby is really an enjoyable read. So far I am liking Rebecca, I hope you read it someday.

I think I have to start another TBR for the classics I still want to read 😄

This is a wonderful idea. However, one TBR gets out of hand how are we going to manage two TBRs!😅

I’m in love with The Great Gatsby!! I read it twice for uni and it remains one of my favourite novels ever. I have yet to read The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, I hope you’ll enjoy that one. Rebecca’s plot was disappointing for me, but it’s true that Du Maurier’s writing is beautiful.

I’ve read Rebecca in the last couple of years, and whilst I thought it was good, I didn’t think it was the most amazing book I’d ever read. I almost felt like I should have liked more than I did! Hope you get back into it 🙂
