Top 5 Tuesday| Books on my 2018 bucket list

Hello everyone! All aboard the Top 5 train. I’m glad to be back making the weekly Top 5 lists for the year 2018. I started in December and now these posts have become a part and parcel of my blogging life. These lists have helped me narrowed down my likes and dislikes and so far I have loved each and every topic. So, from now on I am going to be systematic and schedule my posts in advance. This weekly tag is originally created by the very lovely Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm. She has been putting her heart and soul into making these Top 5’s topics interesting so please give her some support. Thank you, Shanah.

Coming back to today’s theme which is Top 5 Books on my bucket list for the year 2018. In an attempt of exploring new genres and writers, this week I am going to include books by authors I haven’t read before. These authors are wholly new to me as I have heard about their works but never really read anything written by them. So, here it goes.

  • Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

Yes, I haven’t read anything by Daphne Du Maurier. But, not anymore. This book is on my January TBR but I am going to read it by new month owing to my current workload.

  • Life of Pi by Yann Martel

I have watched the film adaptation of this book but it did not interest me as I had expected. It was a long time back so I want to give a chance to the book which I am sure would appeal to me more.

  • Orlando by Virginia Woolf

Yes, you heard it right. I haven’t read anything by Virginia Woolf. Whenever I pick up one of her works, I feel intimidated which makes me not want to read the book. However, this is going to stop. Just added this one to my bucket list and I WILL read it.

  • The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

Mark Twain has received accolades for his contribution to American literature. Never really got around to reading Huckleberry Finn either. So, adding these two books to my 2018 bucket list and Beat The Backlist list.

  • Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward

This award-winning book had already been one of my anticipated releases of 2017. The blurb is intriguing, the writing is gripping and the plotline is unique. Hence, this goes straight to my bucket list for the year.

That’s all for today bookworms. I feel extremely delighted to pen down my first Top 5 of the year. Thank you for reading. Let me know in the comments some of the books present on your bucket list. Signing off!

Happy (Buckety) Reading!

    1. You are welcome. I am so happy to be doing Top 5’s again. And, I agree with you. This cover of Rebecca is gorgeous. I am thinking of picking up SIng, Unburied, Sing later this year. I hope you enjoy reading it.
